A wedding is a ceremony where two people are united in marriage, which is a wonderful, sacred thing.

But in this wedding, something unexpected happened.

A: I can’t believe that Anthony is finally getting married!

A: Don’t be mean. Look here come the bridesmaids! Their dresses look beautiful!

B: Who are those kids walking down the aisle?

A: That’s the flower girl and the ring bearer. I’m pretty sure they’re the groom’s niece and nephew. Oh, they look so cute!

B: I just hope the priest makes it quick. I’m starving. I hope the food’s good at the reception.

A: That’s all you ever think about, food! Oh, I think the bride’s coming now! She looks gorgeous. Wait, what’s she doing? Where’s she going?

「重要发音技巧」

1. 略读英文最明显的语音规则除了连读外，就是略读了。注意：略读时并不是把整个音丢掉，而是发音时点到为止，有口型不发音或轻微发音。

* 重要学术名词 — 爆破音：[p] [b] [t] [d] [k] [g]

以一个爆破音结尾并以同一个爆破音开始时，只发一次音，前一个音只做好发音准备而不发音，直接发第二个音。

例句：I can’t believe that Anthony is finally getting married! 

我不敢相信安东尼终于要结婚了！ 

读音技巧分析：此处can’t结尾的/t/和后面的believe的/b/都是爆破音，那么/t/音就不需要全部发出来，只需要做出嘴部动作即可，直接发出/b/的音。

2. 辅辅连读如果前一个词的结尾辅音与后一个词的开头辅音相同或相近，前一个不发音。

例如：great teacher，其中 great的尾音/t /和teacher 的前音/t/相同，那么前一个t不发音。

例句：It’s about time!

是时候了！

读音技巧：这里的about结尾/t/和后面time/t/是一样的辅音，所以前面一个/t/不发音即可，直接读abou-time。

3. 辅元连读前后两个单词，前一个单词的最后一个音标是辅音，后一个单词的第一个音标是元音，通常要连读。例如：get up，get最后一个音是辅音，up第一个发音是元音音标。

例句：I just hope the priest makes it quick.

我希望神父快一点。

读音技巧分析：makes的三单形式结尾是/s/结尾，直接衔接后面的it开头元音/ɪ/,一起读作 /’meɪksɪt/ (美)。4. 容易读错的词sure 英 /ʃʊə(r)/美 /ʃʊr/

例句：I’m pretty sure they’re the groom’s niece and nephew.

我肯定他们是新郎的侄女和侄子。

1. getting married /ˈmɛrid//ˈmærid/ adj. 已婚的 (wedded) 

例句：Are you getting married in a church? 

婚礼是在教堂举行吗？

2. bridesmaid /'braɪdzmed/ n.伴娘 

    bride /braɪd/ n.新娘      bridegroom  /braɪdɡrum/ n.新郎

例句：Traditionally, the bride pays for her bridesmaids’ dresses.传统上伴娘的服装费由新娘支付。3. aisle /aɪl/ n. 走道 

实用搭配：to lead sb up the aisle 与某人结婚

例句： Some day, I'll walk you down the aisle. 

总有一天我会挽着你走过红毯。

4. reception /rəˈsɛpʃ(ə)n/  n. 欢迎;接待处

① 欢迎 (formal welcoming) 

例句：Does this mean that the reception is canceled? 

这是不是意味着宴会取消了？

② 接待处 (area in hotel, office) 

例句：Did you check with reception at your hotel? 

您到您住的酒店前台询问过吗？

「实用口语表达」

1. gorgeous adj. 很漂亮（形容天气、人、衣着、房子装饰等）

例句：

What a gorgeous day it is today!今天天气多好啊！

2. I’m starving. 我饥肠辘辘。

例句：Hundreds of thousands of people were starving.
